Iran's permanent representative in the United Nations, in a letter to the UN secretary general expressed deep sorrow over insulting the holy Qoran in a church in the state of Florida, USA, and called for UN action in this concern.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Iran's permanent representative in the United Nations, in a letter to the UN secretary general expressed deep sorrow over insulting the holy Qoran in a church in the state of Florida, USA, and called for UN action in this concern.  

Mohammad Khazaei in his letter to Ban Ki-Moon, a copy of which was sent to Tajikistan envoy as a rotating chairman of Organization of Islamic Conference and the other members of the OIC, said that such an act and other similar insulting measures against Islam hurt sentiments of millions of Muslims.

Since such acts trigger violence, serious attention is necessary against the agents and designers of the plot, said the ambassador.

Referring to the UN secretary general responsibility in maintaining peace and friendship among nations, Khazaei wrote in his letter 'your Excellency has an important responsibility in enlightening public opinion about such extremist acts.'
